My Summer So Far...

Mon Jun 15, 2009, 10:04 AM
Ok, so as of right now, my sumemr has been pretty ah-mazing. There's been a few things that have got me down (guys=really stupid), but the bad isn't out weighing the good so far.

So, last thursday, my dad and his girlfriend took my sisters, cousin and I to a Taylor Swift concert! You have no idea how psyched I was! Taylor Swift is my favorite singer! She's all I listen to in the car, so going to her concert was probably the best night of my life so far. I can't even tell you guys how amazing it was. We only had lawn seats, and we got there late, so we had to sit pretty far back. We were actually standing near the food stands and stuff. But, my dad managed to find an awesome spot where we could still see Taylor. and all these people around us couldn't - but we could! I was so happy. Then my dad kept disappearing with the camera, and he'd sneak up to the rail where we weren't allowed to stand, and snap pics of Taylor for us, since we were so far away the pics we were taking had Taylor as a little spec, lol. Anyways, Taylor did an amazing job. A lot of people ahd told me she couldn't sing at all live, but they were really wrong. she sounded amazing! The best part of the performance(in my opinion at leas) was when she performed love story. She had to go change before she sang it, so twop girls in old style ball gowns, and two guys dressed up in their ball finery came out and danced to a classical song. As they danced, the music tunred into a classical version of Love Story, then it picked up into the country version, and Taylor came up out of the floor wearing the most amazing red ball gown! Towards the middle of the song, she stopped singing for a minute, and before we realized it, she had changed into a white dress for the last verse! It was so perfect, and was definitely my favorite part. Love Story is my favorite song, and I was so happy to see how much went into Taylor performing it. We ended up leaving teh concert a little bit early, but we all agreed to leave. We'd each heard our fave Taylor song, and since my dad wanted to beat out the traffic we'd ben stuck in on the way tehre, we left ten minutes early. Suprisingly, only a few other people were doing this, so we got out with no traffic at all. I would have hated to be stuck in the traffic once the concert was officially over - we had sat for an hour right outside the pavilion where they were performing, just trying to get to the parking lot! it was insane. Still, it was the best night of my life so far.

Then, on Saturday, we went with my dad and his girlfriend to a...demolition derby. My sister wanted to go and meet a guy there, and my dad did the whole "You're nbot allowed to go unless the whole family goes!" thing to her. So we all ended up going. I find out that I'm definitely going in the car on teh way there after meeting my grandparents for lunch- and I looked down at my outfit. Of course, I'm wearing a typical me outfit, which means...well, it was kinda preppy. I was wearing a really cute denim mini-skirt, with a purple lacy cami under a really cute white blouse. I was thankful that at elast I'd thrown a pair of shorts in the car that morning because my skirt was agitating me a little bit(it kept riding up, and wouldn't stay on my hips right...I hate it when that happens...). So I switched into shorts, but I still looked a lot out of palce at the derby...my dad's girlfriend told me that I could pass for well dressed cow girl, but I'm pretty sure she was just being nice. Especially since I got a few looks cuz of my outfit. Surprisingly enough, it was actually kind of interesting. As my dad's girlfriend said, it gave a whole new meaning to the words 'car accident'. I can't imagine doing that for only $300 as a prize. Some of the cars out there were so smashed up you could hardly tell they were the same car that had been there in the beginning- and they were still moving! It's definitely an experience that I'm not going to forget.

On Sunday, we went up to Annapolis. We were meeting my dad's girlfriend's parents for lunch, so we headed up early to hit the mall. We went shopping and I got some good deals (a pair of earrings, and some new eye liner), and when we were done, we drove to downtown Annapolis. Now, for as many times as I've been to Annapolis, I've never been down there. And I don't know why. It is amazing there! It's so cute, with all it's little stores, and it had so many restaurants to chose from! We ended up eating at a nice little cafe. It was delicious. Afterwards, we walked around and went shopping. Sadly we didn't go in many of the boutiques, but my dad's girlfriend told us we could come back to do that soon. My youngest sister wasn't with us, and I know she would love to go down there with her camera. She loves taking pictures (she's :iconcoconut1995: if anyone feels like checking her pictures out, they're really good, in my opinion at least). So we're planning to go down there again sometime soon hopefully.

And lastly- I leave for the beach on friday! I'm super pshyched! I can't wait to see my family again. I haven't seen some of my cousins since Thanksgiving, and I miss them a lot. I can't wait to go up there and have an ah-mazing time!

well, that's all for now. If anyone actually read all of this, thanks!
peace,
~Meg

It's in the blood, it's in the blood.
I met my love before I was born.
He wanted love. I taste of blood.
He bit my lip and drank my war
from years before, from years before.
yay!
